A la Web de Polygram s'ha inclòs una pàgina d'informació sobre aquest disc, incloent-hi algunes mostres de tres cançons.
El número de gener de 1997 de la revista ICE newsletter inclou aquest article sobre el proper disc de Van Morrison:
Presently scheduled for release shortly afterwards, on March 4, is still another new Morrison album, titled The Healing Game. It's not a jazz album, but rather a "normal" Van Morrison record - with all new, original compositions. And his cast of musicians is quite large, featuring players who have all appeared on Morrison's last several albums at one point or another: Georgie Fame, Pee Wee Ellis, Alec Dankworth, Leo Green, Ralph Salmins, Geoff Dunn, Ronnie Johnson, Robin Aspland, Nicky Scott, Haji Ahkba, Brian Kennedy, Matt Holland, Liam Bradley, Paddy Moloney and Katie Kissoon...and that's not all of them. Recording has already been completed.
Morrison's London-based manager, Willie Richardson, is quite enthusiastic about The Healing Came. "I have a feeling that this is going to be one of his biggest records in a very long time," Richardson tells ICE. "I would certainly say it's in his top five albums ever. Unbelievable songwriting."
The complete track list for The Healing Game: "Rough God Goes Riding," "Fire in the Belly," "This Weight," "Waiting Game," "Piper at the Gates of Dawn," "Burning Ground," "It Once Was My Life," "Sometimes We Cry," "If You Love Me" and the title track, "The Healing Game."
As for Morrison's catalog, his seven out-of-print Warner Bros. albums spanning 1971 to '78 - Tupelo Honey, Saint Dominic's Preview, Hard Nose the Highway, It's Too Late to Stop Now, Veedon Fleece, A Period of Transition and Wavelength - have all been secured for worldwide distribution by Polydor and should be coming out early next year in their new incarnations. (Deluxe packaging and bonus tracks are unlikely, but stay tuned for details as they become available.)
And Richardson says that Morrison's double CD of unreleased rarities, The Philosopher's Stone (ICE #111 cover story), is now tentatively scheduled for release in the fall of 1997.
