[Treonauts] Treo: Smartphone of Choice for Businesses. Un estudi mostra que el Treo és el telèfon avançat que prefereixen els professionals nord-americans
According to the report, mobile professionals are choosing Treo smartphones for the platform's abundant business-ready applications, high degree of flexibility, choice of operating systems, and power and convenience.
In addition, Frost & Sullivan assessed the return on investment (ROI) of Treo smartphones used in a range of businesses and conservatively determined the average payback period to be less than two months. The results also reported that sales and field agents experienced productivity gains that equaled $11,125 in average savings per agent each year.

fping is different from ping in that you can specify any number of hosts on the command line, or specify a file containing the lists of hosts to ping. Instead of trying one host until it timeouts or replies, fping will send out a ping packet and move on to the next host in a round-robin fashion. If a host replies, it is noted and removed from the list of hosts to check. If a host does not respond within a certain time limit and/or retry limit it will be considered unreachable.

Active Cookies for Browser Authentication.
We propose active cookies as a tool for stronger user/client authentication on the Web. We define an active cookie as a piece of cached and sandboxed executable code, such as a JavaScript object, that helps authenticate an Internet browser to a server. Active cookies require no explicit installation or behavior changes on the part of the user, and thus avoid the security risks and deployment complications of plug-ins and downloadable, standalone applications.
While active cookies have functional and security limitations, we believe that they are an attractive countermeasure to a range of phishing and pharming attacks. They are attractive as a complement to existing techniques for user authentication. Through experimental implementation, we demonstrate the practicality of active cookies and explore surrounding deployment issues. We also formally analyze the security of our active-cookie protocol. For this purpose, we employ a new security model that may be of independent interest for its combination of formalism and simplicity.
